“The Brisbane Renewables Buyers Group gives us an opportunity to create a permanent Procurement Facility for a major economic region of Australia – southeast Queensland. Buyers interested in procuring renewable energy will come to the procurement facility and aggregate themselves on the Platform into an appropriate buying group. So, in effect, there will be a many Buyers Groups using this Procurement Facility.

WePower’s collaboration with CitySmart – the City of Brisbane’s sustainability delivery agency – is very symbiotic:

CitySmart is able to offer Brisbane’s businesses an opportunity to procure lower cost renewable energy whilst making a tangible environmental impact (ie. move beyond offsetting). This, in turn, enables more projects to be built, thereby driving more economic activity in Queensland and improving the state’s environmental footprint.

WePower benefits from CitySmart’s access to local businesses, who are encouraged to use our platform for direct renewable energy procurement.

"WePower was selected to proceed to the Proof-of-Concept phase where we together with the experts from Salzburg AG work on adapting the platform we developed for the Australian energy market to the Austrian energy market. This phase will last 4-months and results with the MVP that is launched in March 2020.
The main win is the collaboration agreement (to be signed) with Salzburg AG to introduce our platform in the market and they will back us in market entry" - says Jarmo Tuisk, our Head of the product.

Kaspar and Jenya attended the CitySmart Sustainability Showcase, where WePower was honored by Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Adrian Schrinner. Our team was presented with a plaque, recognizing WePower’s work with CitySmart.

Our 1st Australian PPA, between People Energy and QEnergy to buy all of the output from a 9.4MW solar PV plant in Robinvale, Victoria was successfuly completed.
It is a significant milestone not only for our company but also for all energy market adopting innovation and increasing efficiency in switching to renewable energy sources.
