Aave is reportedly preparing to introduce a stablecoin on the Ethereum blockchain in a matter of days. The stablecoin, designed to maintain a fixed value, is anticipated to be launched by Aave soon, further expanding its services in the rapidly growing DeFi sector.
The Aave community is supporting a governance proposal to launch the GHO stablecoin on the Ethereum main net. The proposal has received unanimous support and is expected to pass. Aave v3 users will be able to mint GHO against their Ether deposits with a 1.5% annual interest rate, while AAVE token holders will receive a 30% discount. Interest payments from GHO will go to Aave's treasury, and the Aave DAO can adjust GHO's interest rate in the future. Aave is the second-largest DeFi protocol with $5.9B in total value locked.
