SOME 20,000 US FEDERAL WORKERS ALLEGEDLY AGREE TO LEAVE: AXIOS

Around 20,000 United States federal employees accepted the Trump administration's offer to leave their positions but be paid through September, Axios reported on Tuesday. The proposal was extended to about 2 million federal employees in an email last week and will end on February 6.

The email also warned employees who decide to stay that they could be laid off or have their positions changed to "at-will," meaning the government will be able to fire them more easily. According to the report, the administration intends to cut between 5% and 10% of all federal jobs as part of Elon Musk's plan to reduce government spending.

$AAPL - APPLE APP STORE REVENUE UP 18% IN JANUARY, SAYS UBS

Apple's App Store revenue demonstrates strength in January but off a relatively easy comp, UBS analyst David Vogt tells investors in a research note. The firm's analysis of Sensor Tower data indicates global App Store revenue rose 19% on a foreign exchange-neutral basis but 18% on a reported basis in January vs. 13% in the month of December, but the month over month acceleration reflects a 500 basis point easier compare m/m. The firm expects a 500bps deceleration in the balance of the March quarter. UBS has a Neutral rating and $236 price target on Apple shares.
