India is reviewing its stance on cryptocurrencies due to shifting attitudes towards the virtual asset in other countries, a senior government official told Reuters on Sunday.
"More than one or two jurisdictions have changed their stance towards cryptocurrency in terms of the usage, their acceptance, where do they see the importance of crypto assets. In that stride, we are having a look at the discussion paper once again," India's Economic Affairs Secretary Ajay Seth said in an interview.

SOME 20,000 US FEDERAL WORKERS ALLEGEDLY AGREE TO LEAVE: AXIOS
Around 20,000 United States federal employees accepted the Trump administration's offer to leave their positions but be paid through September, Axios reported on Tuesday. The proposal was extended to about 2 million federal employees in an email last week and will end on February 6.
The email also warned employees who decide to stay that they could be laid off or have their positions changed to "at-will," meaning the government will be able to fire them more easily. According to the report, the administration intends to cut between 5% and 10% of all federal jobs as part of Elon Musk's plan to reduce government spending.
