$TSLA - Tesla's Q4 production, delivery numbers a 'modest negative,' says Stifel

Tesla's production and delivery numbers for Q4 are a "modest negative" for the shares, Stifel tells investors in a research note. Total deliveries of 495,570 trailed the firm's estimate, while implied 2024 deliveries were about 1.1% below 2023, the firm says. Stifel made no change to its Buy rating, and is awaiting details in the January 29 earnings release on Auto margins, which will shed some light on pricing and discounts.

$TSLA - TESLA NEW MODEL ROLLOUTS COULD LIFT DEMAND: BAIRD

Tesla's 4Q and full-year deliveries missed Baird expectations, but the company could see wins from the launch of new, more affordable models this year, the analysts say. Those potential launches could be a demand catalyst, even if deliveries will likely be lumpy due to the rollout of those new models. "We also believe growth in the Energy business, launching (and scaling) a robotaxi business, and expanding the capabilities/use of Optimus are additional milestones to watch for," the analysts add. Shares fall 5.1% to $383.09

$TSLA - GOLDMAN SACHS REITERATES NEUTRAL RATING ON TESLA

Tesla's Q4 2024 deliveries were about 496k (up 7% qoq, 2% yoy), production at 459k (down 2% qoq, 7% yoy). Full-year deliveries were 1.79M, down 1% yoy, missing the 515k needed for 2024 growth. Europe saw double-digit declines, China had mid to high teens growth, and the US was modestly down. Deliveries fell short of consensus estimates (500k-510k), with weakness in S/X/Cybertruck. Focus areas will be delivery volumes, gross margins, FSD progress, Energy segment, and Optimus development.
