POTENTIAL U.S. TARIFF ON GOLD BARS COULD DISRUPT GLOBAL BULLION MARKET

U.S. tariffs on one-kilo gold bars could shake the global bullion market, warns Commerzbank analyst Carsten Fritsch. The Financial Times reports that U.S. Customs ruled gold bars of one kilogram and 100 ounces fall under a tariff code. If correct, Swiss imports of these bars to the U.S. would face a 39% levy. Gold futures rose 0.6% to $3,475.40 a troy ounce in European afternoon trade, after peaking at $3,534.20 earlier.

$AAPL - APPLE PT RAISED TO $260 AT MELIUS

Melius analyst Ben Reitzes raised Apple’s price target to $260 from $240, maintaining a Buy rating. He sees growth driven by new iPhone cycles over the next three years, including the “iPhone Air” this September, a foldable in FY26 (~$2,000), and the iPhone 20 in FY27. Reitzes says Siri/AI delays are overblown, with no evidence of customer switching. Higher ASPs and a favorable product mix could boost growth to high single digits in some quarters. FY26 EPS estimate is up $0.12 on stronger margins.
