Was zu keinem Ergebnis führte, Etymologisch bezeichnet es in allen Ursprüngen eine klebrige, schleimige Substanz. Haben wir im deutschen heute noch in Gluten z.B. Da wie bei Allem, auch bei deren Ritualen die Absicht in der Handlung das Entscheidende ist, sind wir dann zur Handlung gekommen und haben "to stick" (https://www.etymonline.com/word/stick?ref=etymonline_crossreference#etymonline_v_22077) angesehen.
