=Higgston, Georgia=
A NEW Confederate Monument has just been erected by the local Sons of Confederate Veterans Robert A. Toombs Camp #932 in Higgston, Georgia.
This is not a removed monument or a monument which was previously torn down but a brand new monument which has never been placed before.
The monument is being erected on the SCV Campโs property in a new Veterans Park project which is underway.
A press release from the Georgia Division Sons of Confederate Veterans stated โwhen these woke Municipalities and Counties illegally take down our Georgia Veteran Monuments not only do we file a lawsuit against them we also look for new locations to erect new monuments to honor Georgia's Confederate Veterans. The memories of our Southern Heroes will not be eased, they will always be remembered for their valor and sacrifices.โ

"In the annals of the Old Dominion there will be no loftier page than that which tells how month after month the war which established the independence of the South was fought on her willing soil; how Lee, and Jackson, and Stuart and a hundred others, were among her chosen sons, and how, upon every battle-field, rivers of the best blood of Virginia were freely shed rather than abandon the title to independence which finds its expression in her fierce motto of "Sic Semper Tyrannis."

TWO YEARS AGO TODAY the Prince Edward County Board of zoning appeals voted UNANIMOUSLY to reverse the decision of the Prince Edward Zoning and Planning Dept in their attempts to have the Rt 460 High Bridge Memorial Battle Flag removed. Since then, the Board of Supervisors has directed the county to continue to appeal that decision and the decision of the Circuit Court that upheld THEIR decision. So far, the county has spent over $100,000 of taxpayer funds in lawyers fees for this attempt and that will likely DOUBLE if they continue. Contact the Prince Edward Co Board of Supervisors and tell them to abide by the decision of their own Board of Zoning Appeals and the Circuit Court, stop wasting taxpayer dollars, and WITHDRAW the current appeal!
