Coalition agrees on vaccination request by employers

The big deal that employers wanted is off the table: the CDU/CSU and SPD have reached an agreement in the debate on vaccination queries by employers. Certain occupational groups must disclose their vaccination status.
The new version states, "The employer may, if and to the extent necessary to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19), require the employee to provide information or proof of the existence of vaccination protection or the existence of natural immunity with respect to coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19)."
The data would have to be collected directly from the employee. The employee should not be pressured to be vaccinated.

Koalition einigt sich auf Impfaufforderung durch Arbeitgeber

Der große Wurf, den die Arbeitgeber wollten, ist vom Tisch: Union und SPD haben sich im Streit um die Impfabfragen der Arbeitgeber geeinigt. Bestimmte Berufsgruppen müssen ihren Impfstatus offenlegen.
In der neuen Fassung heißt es: "Der Arbeitgeber kann, wenn und soweit dies zur Verhinderung der Ausbreitung der Coronavirus-Krankheit-2019 (COVID-19) erforderlich ist, von dem Arbeitnehmer Informationen oder Nachweise über das Bestehen eines Impfschutzes oder das Vorhandensein einer natürlichen Immunität in Bezug auf die Coronavirus-Krankheit-2019 (COVID-19) verlangen." Die Daten müssten direkt bei dem Arbeitnehmer erhoben werden. Der Arbeitnehmer sollte nicht unter Druck gesetzt werden, sich impfen zu lassen.
