The German Armed Forces are preparing for a Germany-wide Corona emergency and plan to mobilize up to 12,000 servicemen and women to support overburdened clinics and health departments. This is reported by the "Spiegel".

Uniformed helpers are also to be on hand for booster vaccinations, rapid tests outside nursing homes and hospitals. According to the report, Lieutenant General Martin Schelleis, who is responsible for the project, sent a corresponding draft to the defense ministry on Friday.

A U.S. appeals court has put a stop for the time being to President Joe Biden's plans to introduce mandatory vaccination for companies with more than 100 employees. It said the plans were "staggeringly far-reaching" and allowed for an "abuse of power."

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans rejected Biden's planned mandatory vaccination for larger U.S. companies in a ruling Friday. At the same time, the court chided the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) - the federal agency charged with enforcing the mandate - for not being created to "make broad pronouncements on public health issues that affect every member of society in profound ways."
