The system, installed at nine sites in North Ayrshire, scans students' faces at checkouts to save time during busy lunch periods.

It matches them with faces stored on the school's servers, replacing software that uses fingerprint scanners.

Darauf hat Deutschland seit März 2020 gewartet – damals wurde die „epidemische Lage von nationaler Tragweite“ erstmals vom Bundestag festgestellt. Nun soll sie nicht mehr verlängert werden – und würde, wenn der Bundestag dies mitträgt, Ende November endgültig auslaufen!

Der Bundestag müsste die Lage aktiv verlängern. Nach der Spahn-Ankündigung gilt dies aber als unwahrscheinlich.

Spahn sagte laut Teilnehmern vor den Länder-Ministern: Das Robert Koch-Institut stufe „das Risiko für geimpfte Personen als moderat ein“, somit könne angesichts der aktuellen Impfquote die epidemische Lage am 25. November 2021 als bundesweite Ausnahmeregelung auslaufen und beendet werden.
