Fox News is struggling to find a unified approach to vaccination against Corona. At least officially, the right-wing TV station supports the vaccination.
New York City - Fox News is promoting vaccination. At least the right-wing conservative TV station has been participating in a campaign by the U.S. health authorities for a few days now, broadcasting a commercial promoting Corona prevention. The move has been widely praised, even by commentators on the more liberal CNN news network.
Then, however, Tucker Carlson entered the scene. The particularly sharp-tongued show host and commentator, one of the stars of the Fox News lineup, publicly doubted the effectiveness of the vaccine at the same time as the vaccination campaign and warned of supposed health risks as a result of vaccination. In doing so, Carlson probably accepted the fact that he was counteracting the public line taken by his employer in its program.

New York City - Fox News wirbt für das Impfen. Zumindest beteiligt sich der rechtskonservative Fernsehsender seit einigen Tagen an einer Kampagne der US-Gesundheitsbehörden und strahlt einen Werbespot zur Corona-Prävention aus. Die Aktion wurde weithin gelobt, sogar von Kommentatoren des eher liberalen Nachrichtensenders CNN.
Dann aber trat Tucker Carlson auf den Plan. Der besonders scharfzüngige Moderator und Kommentator, einer der Stars im Programm von Fox News, bezweifelte zeitgleich mit der Impfkampagne öffentlich die Wirksamkeit des Impfstoffs und warnte vor angeblichen Gesundheitsrisiken durch die Impfung. Damit nahm Carlson wahrscheinlich in Kauf, dass er der öffentlichen Linie seines Arbeitgebers in dessen Programm zuwiderhandelte.
