Sadly, before reaching 20 attempts, Viber blocked my server IP by CloudFront. I had to lower the limit to 10 per day. I’ll think about what I can do here.

Hello everyone!

I made more tests and I think I understand now why some users get error messages and some don’t. I inspected registration requests and noticed that exactly the same request is working for one country code, and not working in another country. Looks like we have to make patches per country. As for my logs, I can see that for the last few months, the proxy did work for users from a few European countries and Japan, other failed. I’ll improve the proxy to make it accept different configurations per country. And together with you, we will make it work in every country!

During recent tests, I noticed Viber is now returning a new error message:

Status: 116, ErrorMessage: Registration restricted for system

They have made it more difficult to activate Viber now via the proxy.

But the new way to activate it without a server proxy will handle that. It requires a special tool that will be a part of the video instructions.
