Umbilical hernia(الفتق السري)

Animal spp.: calf
3 month of age
Sex: female

🤒C.S:
from 3 days the animal suffering from swelling at the umbilical area.

🤒D.x:
by palpation manually the examination show there is;
hernial sac, hernial content and hernial ring.

🤒Rx:
- pre operation; fasting the animal from feed and water at least 24hrs, clipping and shaving the umbilical area.
Washing by water and soap.
Use povidon iodin.
And useing local anasthesia(Ledocain) at the base of hernial sac like a ring.

🤒-during operation:
1🌺-make incision  in the midline (open the skin, sabcutaneous and peritoneum) .

2- 🌺return the hernial content to the abdominal cavity.

3-🌺 remove of the excessive skin.

4- 🌺suturing the peritoneum by using absorbable suture material (polyglycolic suture) simple continuous pattern.

5- 🌺and finally suturing the subcut . & skin by non absorbable suture material(silk suture) simple interrupted pattern.

🤒- post operative care:

1-🌺give the animal 2.5cc of p.s i.m and for 3 days after operation

2- 🌺use Oxy-spray to prevent contamination occur in the wound.

3- 🌺after 10 days should be remove the non absorbable suture material from the skin.
