🔶opBNB is a Layer 2 solution compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and built on the Optimism OP Stack platform, utilizing the Optimistic Rollups solution. Its purpose is to improve transaction processing speed and reduce gas fees.
🔶Currently, the BNB Chain processes approximately 2,000 transactions per second with fees of around 0.1 USD. In contrast, Layer 2 opBNB can handle up to 4,000 transactions per second with costs as low as 0.005 USD.
🔶Previously, in September 2022, BNB Chain also launched a Layer 2 solution based on Zk-rollups technology (not compatible with EVM) and is currently in the testnet phase.
