📜🏛 The stunning Fontego Dei Turchi is one of my favorite palaces in Venice.
You may remember it if you passed on the #GrandCanal on a boat or a #Gondola.
Originally a XIV century private building, it was sold to Venice government in 1602 and the #Doge decided to make it the home of the Turkish merchants living in the city.
The building was completely restored from 1860 to 1880.
Today is home to the Natural History Museum:

📜 This is the last and only ancient "Stele" left in Venice☝️
📝 On these stones laws important for Venetian citizens were carved for everyone to read and conform.
📌At its very end the sculpted date is #31October 1727, so next year this stone will be 300 years old!
I let you search for it and read it in person when in Venice 🫵
