A lifelong love story โค๏ธ
She was born 100 years ago (#2December 1923) and she's celebrated at #LaFenice Theater.
๐จโ๐จ๐17 September 1510. Giorgione (his portrait on the leftโ๏ธ), one of the most mysterious painters of the Italian #Renaissance, passed away of pest in Venice. This is actually the only certain thing we know about #Giorgione.
He was probably born in 1478 in #Castelfranco, Medieval town 30 minutes away from Venice and at the time part of the Venetian Republic.
He moved to Venice very young and entered the Art School of ๐ Giovanni Bellini as a palace decorator, soon joined by ๐ Tiziano.
That's why Bellini and Tiziano are the main witnesses of Giorgione's work, due to the fact that he never signed his paintings.
Today we all can admire Giorgione's most famous paintings in the #AccademiaGalleries in Venice: among them "La Tempesta"โ๏ธ, unanimously regarded as one of the most beautiful and important artworks of the Renaissance!

Happy 60th Birthday to #DorinaVaccaroni from #Lido, Venice.
๐คบ An icon for Italian female foil fencing, she debuted aged 16 in the Olympic Games in Moscow and she won everything possible ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ in Olympics, World, European and Italian competions in the 1980s.
๐ดโโAfter retiring from fencing she became a professional cyclist and she managed to do the Tour De France and Giro d'Italia.
Still today Dorina is an Ultra cyclist and she takes part to long runs around the world.

Andrea Palladio, widely considered one of the most influential architects in history, was born in #Padua, at the time under the Republic Of Venice.
The city of #Vicenza, with its 23 buildings designed by #Palladio, and the 24 Palladian Villas of the #Veneto region are listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites.
In particular the influence of #PalladianVillas design and style can be found all over the world in public buildings and constructions, the most famous example is the US Capitol๐บ๐ธ
Here in Venice we can admire several churches designed and built by #AndreaPalladio, most notably the Church and Refectory of San Giorgio Maggiore island, the Church of Redentore, the Church of Le Zitelle, the faรงade for the Church of San Francesco della Vigna, the faรงade for the Basilica of San Pietro di Castello (see ๐ธโ๏ธ).
