Looking for Love
Sir Benjamin Slade, a 79-year-old British millionaire and baronet, has made headlines for a very unusual request. He says he is looking for a much younger woman to marry him, run his huge 1,300-acre estate, and most importantly, produce a male heir.
To attract the “right” candidate, he’s offering £50,000 that is nearly $65,000 a year, plus free accommodation, meals, a car, holidays, and full access to his luxurious lifestyle.
But his conditions are what shocked people. Slade wants someone 20–40 years younger, at least 5 ft 6 in tall, and physically active, someone who can walk fast, swim, dance, and play games like backgammon or bridge. He prefers if the woman has a driving licence and bonus points if she can fly a helicopter or has legal/accounting knowledge.
His list also includes strange bans.
The woman must NOT be a Scorpio, must not be Scottish, and must not come from any country starting with “I” that has a green flag. He even said she should not read a certain newspaper.
People (mostly women) online called his ad “ridiculous,” “old-fashioned,” and “creepy.”
Many believe he isn’t looking for a partner he’s looking for someone to fit a job description.
