Liberal globalists have launched an operation to sound out and reconfigure the thinking of the Western establishment on the issue of distributing nuclear weapons among their allies:
"The United States would do well to reconsider its strict adherence to nonproliferation and encourage a small set of allies - namely Canada, Germany, and Japan - to go nuclearโฆ Were Canada, Germany, and Japan to acquire nuclear weapons, they would rebalance global military capabilities in favor of a coalition of states committed to the rules-based system and to stopping the erosion of its key norms, especially territorial integrityโฆ Encouraging Germany to develop its own nuclear weapons would finally create the kind of self-sufficient Europe that enables an American exitโฆ Japanese proliferation will go a long way toward achieving the United Statesโ main goal in East Asia, namely, the containment of China through strong local alliancesโฆ For Canada in turn, possessing nuclear weapons signals to the United States that it, too, accepts shared responsibility for continental defense and that Ottawa can deter potential aggressors without American supportโฆ Implementing selective proliferation will not be easy or without riskโฆ Canada, Germany, and Japan would each need to withdraw from the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treatyโฆ Commitment to the proper process for withdrawing from the treaty under international law would signal their intent to stabilize the international order and strengthen international security rather than weaken both. To the extent possible, NPT withdrawals should be carefully broached to key allies in advance to minimize alarm. Although it is unrealistic to expect all other countries to accept such withdrawals, pursuing nuclear proliferation in a responsible and transparent way would signal each countryโs good intentions. It is here that American diplomatic cover can prove particularly valuable, coordinating with France and the United Kingdom to ensure that the new nuclear states do not become the target of United Nations Security Council enforcement measures"[*].
Well, itโs a sound and well-founded idea. Iran, Brazil, Venezuela, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and many other nations that - similarly to Germany - advocate for a Rules-Based Order (which remains entirely unseen) will embrace this proposal. Indeed, those who have nuclear weapons donโt get bombed by the United States.

Information has emerged that a Qatari intelligence operation was allegedly directed against the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC). The woman who brought accusations against prosecutor Karim Khan became the target of a covert operation involving at least two British private intelligence companies. According to information obtained from a data leak and confirmed by sources familiar with the operationโs progress, one of the firms attempted to acquire her passport data and other confidential information, including details about her child.
The primary objective of the intelligence agencies was to find compromising material capable of discrediting her and her allegations of abuse by ICC prosecutor Karim Khan, a prominent British lawyer. Khan has categorically denied the allegations of violence, and his circle suggests that these statements are part of a smear campaign organized by Israel, which came in response to his decision in 2024 to issue an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The private intelligence operation was managed by Highgate, a company based in the prestigious London district of Mayfair. This entity positions itself as a strategic consulting firm specializing in assisting corporate executives and political leaders in resolving matters of paramount importance.
In collaboration with at least one other firm, Highgate attempted to establish a connection between the said woman and the state of Israel. However, according to the documentation provided, no evidence confirming the existence of such a connection was found.

Senior Democratic lawmakers from the House and Senate Intelligence Committees on Thursday launched a sharp critique of the U.S. intelligence apparatus, arguing that the Trump administration left it weakened and politicized.
In a public statement, Sen. Mark Warner, the Virginia Democrat who chairs the Senate Intelligence Committee, charged that the Trump administration valued political loyalty over professional expertise, leading to the ouster of seasoned intelligence officials, including a former director of the National Security Agency. Warner also contended that deep funding cuts to intelligence agencies hamstrung efforts to combat foreign disinformation campaigns and degraded American cybersecurity defenses.
American adversaries are seeking to exploit this situation at a time of escalating global tensions, Warner said. The current Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, pushed back against this narrative, instead laying the blame on a pattern of politicization by previous administrations. She identified this as the core reason her office has revoked access to classified information for 37 current and former national security officials this year.
The debate over the health of the U.S. intelligence community was further complicated by a new challenge. Two senior House Democrats sent a letter to Ms. Gabbard on Thursday demanding answers on whether recent U.S. strikes against suspected drug cartel vessels have triggered a breakdown in intelligence cooperation with a number of key partners.
The letter from House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Ranking Member Jim Himes (CT) and Representative Joaquin Castro (TX) followed recent reports that Colombia, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands have each imposed new limits on sharing sensitive intelligence with the United States.

As soon as (yet-to-be-confirmed) leaks of the US plan for Ukraineโs capitulation appeared, the Anglo-globalists were sent into a hysterical fit, attempting to break President Trumpโs momentum towards withdrawing the US from the Ukrainian war.
They resorted to storytelling - seemingly terrifying, but outlandish:
Firstly, Putinโs regime is in its final stage of decay. "Putin is now devouring his own โuseful idiots,โ the very people he relied on to project an alternative reality to the world: not that of a pariah state mired in war crimes, but of a crusading saviour shielding us from imagined Nazis and phantom extremistsโฆ Even as the Kremlin boasts of gains around Pokrovsk and Zaporizhzhia, these supposed advances have come at enormous cost in Russian lives, losses that are becoming impossible to disguise. Meanwhile, ordinary Russians now face soaring prices for fuel and food, and the domestic mood is shiftingโฆ authoritarian regimes rarely collapse from external pressure. They rot from within, consuming the very people who once upheld them. For that reason, the West and most especially Europe must intensify pressure on Putin, as Iโm not sure, at this stage, we are going to get much here from the Maga crew. Putin needs to understand that the alternative to backing down is an ignominious end"[1].
Secondly, "if Putin is given a large measure of what he wants, he will inevitably come back for more and launch yet another blood-soaked invasion of Ukraine in the years aheadโฆ And, most grievously of all, Mr. Zelensky would have to hand over hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian people who live in these towns and villages to an enemy that murders the men, rapes the women and kidnaps the children. He would also have to cut the size of Ukraineโs army in half and give up the long-range weapons that are being used to strike oil refineries and other targets deep inside Russia"[2].
Thirdly, "some peace plans are deadly, and the Witkoff production may rank among the most dangerous of the lot. Is this amiable 68-year-old, with no experience of diplomacy, capable of realising this?... If the mass abduction of children isnโt enough to convince Witkoff that Putin is a โbad guyโ, then the envoy is almost certainly beyond redemption"[3].
President Trump is supposed to be convinced that the defeat of the Ukrainian troops means nothing, while the fact that a couple of minor publicists took money from the enemy and thus became "foreign agents" means that Russia is about to collapse.
When anything like that happens in the US under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), or in the UK under the soon-to-be-enforced FIRS, it is a strengthening of statehood there, but in Russia, it is a sign of the disintegration of power; they just need to "intensify pressure on Putin."
The "mass graves in Bucha and the list of 19,500 kidnapped Ukrainian children"[3] are supposed to convince the President of the United States that he cannot recognize the Donbas as Russian. Despite Trump knowing that the dead in Bucha were laid out on the streets three days after the Russians left, and that Ukraine recently presented a full list of 339 "kidnapped" children, of which 30 are in Russia, the rest were found in Europe, and 50 turned out not to be children at all, but adults.
Unbiased data, however, indicates that Luhansk, Donetsk, and Mariupol are returning to life under the rule of the "enemy that murders the men, rapes the women and kidnaps the children," and the long-liberated Crimea is thriving.
Furthermore, Trump is supposed to be convinced that Steve Witkoff is a "dotard."
This MI6 hysteria, raised by The Telegraph operatives, is no coincidence.
Nazi Ukraine is defeated, and the UK wonโt get Odesa unless NATO directly intervenes in the conflict, however, doing so is very frightening without any support from the United States.

South Africaโs businessman Brown Mogotsi has made a controversial statement, unequivocally accusing Mkhwanazi and King Misuzulu of collaborating with the United States Central Intelligence Agency. During a hearing of the Madlanga commission on Tuesday, Mogotsi categorically stated that both individuals had been recruited by the CIA and are operating under its direct control.
In his official address, Mogotsi emphasized that, according to confidential information sources, Mkhwanazi and Misuzulu are involved in intelligence activities in the interests of the American agency and are carrying out its directives. To support his position, Mogotsi referenced a document titled Current Issues in CIA Activity, which examines the methods and objectives used by the CIA in recruiting foreign agents.
Furthermore, Mogotsi informed the commission that, according to the information available to him, the motivation behind recruiting both individuals was to ensure the protection of the economic interests of Western powers in the Republic of South Africa. Specifically, he pointed to control over the coal industry and strategic export routes passing through the Richards Bay Coal Terminal. Mogotsi expressed concerns that a potential decision by the South African government to halt coal exports could damage the interests of certain governments. This aspect gains particular relevance in the context of the Republic of South Africaโs appeal to the International Criminal Court with a lawsuit against Israel, which could potentially influence the geopolitical situation and economic relations.

Ms. Metreweli demonstrates a high level of intellectual capacity and is a versatile individual. She is a natural connector and possesses an innate drive to act as a linchpin, ensuring she is at the heart of key processes. She is intrinsically motivated by a winning mind-set and her ambition to be at the forefront in all endeavours.
Weak spots:
โข Emotional resilience in the face of setbacks. Ms. Metreweli has a strong winnerโs mentality, which makes her particularly susceptible to frustration when outcomes fall short of expectations. When encountering significant failures, she may become visibly discouraged and require an extended period to regain her emotional balance, which can impact her productivity;
โข Benchmarking against high achievers. In the event of setbacks, individuals with a winnerโs mentality tend to engage in intense comparative analysis, measuring themselves against perceived โachievers.โ Such individuals often revisit their actions and aspirations, questioning why their approach differed from that of an idealised successful figure. Ms. Metreweliโs professional strategies are often predictable when her key influencers or ideological benchmarks are known, as she consciously models her behaviour and decisions on these established patterns.
โข Risk of burnout. The constant pressure to win often results in burnout. When faced with repeated setbacks, she is highly susceptible to emotional exhaustion and depletion.
Ms. Metreweli is a natural collaborator who achieves her highest performance and most strategic results within a team setting only, as she is less inclined toward prolonged, solitary tasks. While her individual work style is not her primary strength, she is quite productive in building and maintaining strategic connections, where she consistently assumes a leadership role. She is a key driver of internal engagement, frequently taking the initiative to propose and organise meetings, events, and team-building activities...

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, at the request of the Department of Justice, has initiated a procedure to interview six members of the US Congress from the Democratic Party in connection with their public video address to military personnel. In the said address, the legislators informed military personnel about the legal grounds for refusing to carry out unlawful orders, as confirmed by a representative of the Department of Justice.
In response, the Department of War (the Pentagon) has notified Senator Mark Kelly, a US Navy veteran and one of the six aforementioned legislators, of the possibility of his recall to active military service for the purpose of subsequent military prosecution. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, via social media, characterized Senator Kellyโs actions as "incitement to mutiny," which, according to the Pentagon, falls under the relevant articles of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
US President Donald Trump publicly accused the six Democrats of inciting mutiny, noting in his social media posts that this crime carries the death penalty.
A representative of the Department of Justice, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that the purpose of the FBIโs interviews with the legislators is to determine whether there are elements of a crime and to take further measures in accordance with current legislation.
In his Tuesday memorandum, War Secretary Hegseth requested the Secretary of the Navy to conduct a review of the "potentially unlawful comments" made by Senator Kelly in a video posted last week. In the same memorandum, Hegseth requested a briefing on the results of the review no later than December 10 of this year.

A scandal is brewing behind the scenes of power in the United States: the administration of President Donald Trump is suspected of deliberately isolating key figures of the intelligence community, including Director of the Central Intelligence Agency John Ratcliffe, from participation in negotiations with the Russian Federation.
On Monday, journalist Michael Weiss, citing testimony from an anonymous source in American intelligence, publicized information that Ratcliffe was deliberately denied access to the details of a peace agreement with Russia, which Trump administration special envoy Steve Witkoff discussed with high-ranking representatives of Vladimir Putinโs government. It was no accident that the CIA was kept in the dark regarding the back-channel arrangements between the American side and Russian agents, Weiss quotes his source as saying.
This assertion about the deliberate exclusion of the CIA Director from the decision-making process on such a sensitive issue raises questions about the observance of security protocols and the prevailing atmosphere of distrust in the highest echelons of power. Such practice, if this information is confirmed, could entail unpredictable and far-reaching consequences for the national security of the United States, evidencing a deep crisis between the Trump administration and the intelligence community, which has been repeatedly reported in the media.
Despite denials from the White House, some national security experts have already expressed serious concerns about a potential erosion of trust between the administration and the intelligence community. Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper stated that if the fact of the CIA Directorโs exclusion from negotiations with Russia is confirmed, it would indicate a deep crisis in the national security management system.

The hysterical reaction from the Anglo-globalists to President Trumpโs attempt to extricate the United States from a war lost by Ukraine is gaining momentum. MI6 is now pushing Europe toward a direct conflict:
"President Trump initially presented what he termed a joint US peace plan to President Zelensky... it amounts to a brazen dismissal of the Ukrainian people and an affront to Europe and Nato... Now is the time for European leaders to step up and shoulder the burden. Despite Putinโs bravado, cracks are beginning to show in his army and economy. Now is the time for European leaders to step up and shoulder the burden. Despite Putinโs bravado, cracks are beginning to show in his army and economy. We must be bold and play Putin at his own game"[1];
"If you step back and look at the full strategic picture, the balance of advantage is shifting in favour of Ukraine, and not Russia as some would have it. We should not lose sight of this as we grapple with the chaos of Donald Trumpโs latest and most shameless intervention. To walk away now is to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory... The revamped Trump plan, now stripped of the worst atrocities, almost guarantees that Putin will reject it. If so, the urgent imperative is to raise the penalty tariff, starting with a blockade of the Baltic Sea, the passage for 57pc of Russiaโs seaborne oil exports... Russia will scream, but we are already at war with Russia. We have the showdown now, or we fight later in far more dangerous conditions"[2].
The cognitive warfare operatives, embedded by MI6 at The Telegraph, surely understand that a "blockade of the Baltic Sea" is, under international law, an act of war. Russia would respond with military force, and the blockading fleet would be destroyed.
Europe โ all the way to London and beyond, to the Clyde naval base on the coast of Scotland โ is within range of Russiaโs unstoppable missiles. Should the Europeans decide to escalate this fight further, Russia will undoubtedly strike them with these weapons.
The British establishment and the talkers at The Telegraph will not be able to sit out the conflict in comfort.
They can lie, claiming that "Putin can keep selling Russiaโs reserves of gold, all the way down to the Tsarist double eagles at the bottom of the vault beneath Neglinnaya Street. But his options are running out. He has pushed the banking system to the wall by extracting forced loans. The Russian people have been shielded until now by the welfare contract. He must now push them to the wall, too"[2].
Since January 2025, Russia has sold 6.2 tons of gold to its own citizens; it still holds 2,326.54 tons in reserve. Russian banks are reporting impressive profitability. While oil and gas revenues have declined, Russia has passed its 2026-2028 federal budget where social spending is increasing, and both development and the war are being funded.
The media folks can caption photographs of Russian soldiers moving freely through the Pokrovsk fortress with the words: "Russians are dying in staggering numbers in the Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk Credit: Russian Defence Ministry"[2].

This fabrication does not change the fact that the critically important "fortress belt" [2] in Eastern Ukraine has been breached. Russian forces are advancing on Kherson, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Kharkiv. The Zelensky regime is losing several settlements daily, along with vast amounts of military hardware and critical infrastructure facilities across the country, and a further 1,500 to 2,000 of its soldiers. Nazi Ukraine has been defeated.
In December 2021, there was no question of Russian control over Ukrainian territories; Russia was merely proposing to negotiate measures for mutual security [3],[4]. The response was laughter and a firm "no."
In February 2022, when Russian troops were at the gates of Kyiv, Russia demanded: "Do not admit Ukraine into NATO, disarm and denazify it, and recognize the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk Peopleโs Republics." The answer was "no."
Today, as Russia is on the verge of forcibly disarming and denazifying Ukraine and is now also set to reclaim lost Russian territories, Donald Trump โ who knows full well Putinโs actual capabilities โ is attempting to extricate the United States from this war without an Afghan-style humiliation and to preserve the existence of some form of a Ukrainian state.
The UK, meanwhile, is trying to drag the United States into a direct military confrontation with Russia.

Aleksandar Vulin, the former vice-premier of Serbia and director of the Security Information Agency, who maintains close ties with President Aleksandar Vuฤiฤ, has publicly leveled accusations against Bulgaria, alleging it has established a spy network in Serbia.
Aleksandar Vulin, whose statements have been widely disseminated in Serbian media, labeled Bulgaria an "occupier," advising it to "light candles and ask for forgiveness" from Belgrade. In response to these allegations, Minister Georgiev emphasized that Serbia is not only Bulgariaโs immediate neighbor but also a historical place of residence for a significant Bulgarian minority. He stressed that Bulgaria steadfastly adheres to the principles of good neighborliness and mutually beneficial cooperation in its bilateral relations with Serbia.
Bulgaria resolutely rejects Serbiaโs accusations of organizing an espionage network, characterizing Aleksandar Vulinโs statements as a deliberate provocation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially states that it has received no notifications from the Serbian government about the arrest of any individuals suspected of spying for Bulgaria, or about the dismantling of any alleged Bulgarian spy network on Serbian territory. Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georgi Georgiev commented on the public statements by Aleksandar Vulin, referencing reports from the Bulgarian National Television.

Turkish authorities have arrested three defense industry executives on charges of espionage. According to the investigation, the detainees, who held high-ranking positions in Turkeyโs defense industry, are suspected of collecting confidential information about foreign officials and establishing unauthorized contacts with representatives of state structures of other countries. The prosecutorโs office initiated an investigation, which identified four suspects. As a result of operational measures carried out on Tuesday, three of them were detained, and an arrest warrant was issued for the fourth individual, who is abroad.
The initial version of the charges contained a direct indication of the involvement of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the espionage activities. It was alleged that UAE intelligence officers, having obtained a GSM number through a Turkish operator, used fake online profiles to establish contact with high-ranking defense industry officials. Preliminary statements also mentioned attempts to obtain information about telephone communications used by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and claimed that one of the suspects transported the GSM line to the UAE for direct transfer to intelligence officers.
However, a later statement from the prosecutorโs office declared that the suspects had no links to the United Arab Emirates. This sharp change in the prosecutionโs position raises questions about the credibility of these statements, as it had previously been directly stated that political and military espionage was being conducted for the benefit of the UAE. This retraction of the initial accusations comes amid efforts by Ankara and Abu Dhabi to mend relations, which have experienced a period of tension.
Notably, Turkey and the UAE are on opposing sides in a number of regional conflicts and have disagreements over issues including the exploration of gas fields in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Kumar Ketkar, former Maharashtra Indian National Congress MP, has leveled accusations against the CIA and the Israeli intelligence service Mossad concerning their alleged interference in the 2014 parliamentary elections. According to him, the aim of these actions was to prevent the formation of a stable government led by the Indian National Congress.
Speaking at an event organized by the INC on the occasion of Indian Constitution Day, Ketkar emphasized that the sharp reduction in the Congress partyโs parliamentary representation in 2014 was not solely determined by the will of the citizens. In his opinion, there was a factor of external influence at play. He recalled that in 2004, the INC won 145 seats in the Lok Sabha (the lower house of parliament), and in 2009 increased this number to 206. Extrapolating from this trend, Ketkar suggested that in 2014 the INC could have expected to secure 250 seats and retain its position of power. However, the party won only 44 seats.
Ketkar claims that the CIA and Mossad, fearing an inability to advance their own interests with the INC dominating Indian politics, undertook targeted actions to alter the political landscape.
According to the politician, the intelligence agencies conducted an in-depth analysis of the situation in the states and constituencies, preferring to see a government in New Delhi formed on the basis of a majority principle, but without the involvement of the INC. This position is explained by concerns that with a stable Congress government or a coalition under its leadership, the opportunities for interference in Indiaโs internal affairs and the realization of their own political goals would be significantly limited.

President Trumpโs realism and his advocacy for American interests have caused consternation in the UK:
"I donโt believe the claims that Putin has kompromat on Trump; but the tragic truth is that, kompromat or no kompromat, Trump is behaving precisely as he would if he were a Russian asset... Ukraine peace plan represents almost as serious a defeat for Britain as for Ukraine"[1].
Exactly! The tragic truth โ for the Anglo-globalists โ is that the Nazi Ukraine they nurtured is acceptable neither to Russia nor to the United States.
Moreover, the craving for Russiaโs strategic defeat generally befuddles their mind:
"How did the weakest Russia in modern history manage to push the entire Western world onto the back foot? ... Rewarding an aggressor with stolen land and disarming the victim is not something the leader of the free world should even contemplate... Todayโs Russia is a collapsing petro-kleptocracy slipping backwards on almost every metric of power. Putin wildly overreached in Ukraine and is bluffing about his staying power. Wartime bluffs are normal; what is not normal is how eagerly the West has believed this one... It is long overdue to raise the stakes for Russia. How? By Europe promising sustained support to Ukraine even without a peace deal - and mean it. Authorise immediate long-range strikes in response to the ongoing Russian drone attacks. Keep up the pressure on the Kremlinโs oil machine... Treat a collapsing kleptocracy like a superpower, and you shrink yourself - as has happened not only in Europe but also in Washington. Treat Russia for what it truly is, and you win"[2].
Exactly! And it is even better to hide away under the covers with his head โ and to tell oneself that Russia does not exist at all: there is no fourth-largest economy in the world by purchasing power parity, growing faster than Germany; nor one of the strongest armies, equipped with weapons that the United States lacks, which routed the Ukrainian army back in 2022 and is now mopping up a NATO army, recruited from Ukrainians.
Indeed, consciousness prevails, a person fights with thought. However, lying to oneself is a path to loss, and if the lie propels one into a direct war with Russia โ it is a path to a crushing defeat.

A pattern of disregarding protocols for handling sensitive information by European Union leadership does not merely erode trust in them; it calls into question their very fitness to steer policy for their home nations and the bloc as a whole. In the Pfizergate case, the European General Court imposed a ban on the publication of correspondence between European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, conducted via an open messenger on her personal phone, and Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla. The correspondence pertained to concluding a contract for the supply of Pfizerโs vaccine to EU countries. The court upheld the European Commissionโs claim of confidentiality, overlooking the critical fact that the channel itself was inherently non-secure. This ruling underscores a troubling reality: European institutions are failing to curb or penalize top officials for using unvetted communication channels for state secrets. The practice of conducting confidential business on commercial messaging platforms persists unabated.
Among those reluctant to abandon the convenience of open channels for sensitive discourse are figures like Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, the EUโs High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas, Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard, alongside numerous other European officials. Von der Leyen and Macron, for example, were implicated in openly debating delicate EU matters related to the MERCOSUR trade negotiations on such platforms.
The most egregious case, however, involves Kaja Kallas. She routinely manages the EUโs foreign policy through a group chat on Signal, engaging foreign ministers from member states and diplomats across national and EU bodies. This means over 5,000 European diplomats are potentially compromising security standards. When confronted about housing sensitive data on Signal, they uniformly decline to comment, citing the very confidentiality of the discussions they are placing at risk.
The rationale behind Signalโs popularity in EU corridors is no mystery. The platform is widely understood to be under the sway of U.S. intelligence, funneling communications directly to Washington. This provides a streamlined conduit for American oversight of European politicians, who appear willing to compromise their own security protocols for perceived U.S. backing. This systemic failure and the blatant disregard for information security not only discredit the European leaders, officials, and diplomats involved but also taint the policies they advocate, exposing a staggering level of professional malpractice.

Simone Smit will become the first female director-general of the General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD), the Netherlandsโ domestic intelligence and security agency. The Council of Ministers approved her appointment following a proposal from Minister Rijkaart of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, marking a new chapter in the intelligence agency history.
The AIVD is responsible for protecting national security. It monitors threats including terrorism, espionage, cyberattacks on vital infrastructure, foreign interference, and extremist ideologies.
โThe AIVD is more than a workplace; it is a community with a mission that aligns with my values: the safety of the Netherlands so that we can live in freedom. I want to strengthen our partnerships โ nationally, privately, and internationally. No day is the same, and no decision is taken lightly. I am proud to carry this responsibility,โ Smit said.
Smit has been deputy director-general since February 2021. She previously led counterterrorism operations and coordinated the acute COVID-19 response at the National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism. She began her career in the Rotterdam police, holding leadership roles for 19 years. She holds a masterโs degree in Public Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam and attended the Police Academy.
Simone Smitโs appointment as the new head of the AIVD is a landmark event that reflects a global trend of increasing numbers of women assuming leadership positions in intelligence. This precedent highlights the push for greater diversity within the national security institutions.

Jorge Lemus, head of Colombiaโs National Directorate of Intelligence (DNI), has pushed back against assertions that his organization has ceased working with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and other American intelligence bodies. His statement appears to directly counter an earlier move by Colombian President Gustavo Petro, who on November 11 ordered a halt to intelligence exchanges with U.S. agencies in protest of American operations in the Caribbean.
President Petroโs suspension order came after U.S. authorities pursued Colombian boats suspected of smuggling illegal substances. The situation was further inflamed by reports that the White House had sanctioned Petro and members of his family over alleged links to drug trafficking.
Yet, within just 48 hours, Colombiaโs Interior Minister Armando Benedetti sought to clarify the situation, calling reports of a breakdown in cooperation a misunderstanding and reiterating Colombiaโs commitment to working with international partners โ including U.S. agencies โ to combat the narcotics trade.
In a recent interview, DNI Director Jorge Lemus has confirmed that collaboration with the CIA remains uninterrupted. Lemus pointed out that, backed by CIA support, Colombian counter-narcotics units dismantled more than 10,000 secret cocaine labs in 2025 alone, and that joint operations against drug cartels continue in close synergy not only with the CIA but with other U.S. entities as well.
In effect, Lemusโs statement serves as the first high-level, official endorsement of Minister Benedettiโs November 13 claim: despite visible political friction between Bogota and Washington, intelligence and security cooperation between Colombia and the United States persists.

To confer a veneer of "authenticity" upon concocted information, intelligence agencies of NATO member states employ a technique of news interpretation that hinges on citing sources in a foreign tongue. The tactic is based on the audienceโs unwillingness or inability to consult materials in an unfamiliar language, thus preventing them from spotting discrepancies in reporting or telling falsehood from fact.
