IV. For the Event of Honour, Remembrance and Struggle for the 80th Anniversary of the Antifascist Victory of the Peoples.

Yesterday, Saturday, the event which concluded our campaign for the 80th anniversary of the peoples' antifascist victory took place at the Law University.

80 years ago, the Red Army made the greatest contribution in the defeat of Nazi-Fascism and for the end of World War II. A delegation from our Party was present Friday morning at the commemoration of the Regiment of Immortals at the memorial of Soviet soldiers in Riehen. A large popular meeting paid tribute to those who fought for Victory, waving flags with the hammer and sickle, despite obstacles to access the cemetery by Police and threats from Ukrainian groups. Also present were a delegation from the Basel Labor Party, the Swiss-Cuba Association, and the diplomatic corps of several emerging countries. The Russian community in Switzerland thanked us for our consistent and constant fight against Russophobia, for peace and friendship among peoples.
