8 ways to improve brain function
Do you often forget information or can't remember where you put the item you need? As we age, the human brain becomes "lazy" and cognitive abilities deteriorate. Fortunately, this can be remedied with some simple activities:
Listen to classical music. Classical music activates the brain structures responsible for creativity, as well as helps you make the right decisions faster and increases the speed at which you solve intellectual problems.
Tell stories. Remembering interesting details and retelling them to your interlocutor, selecting words and accents, can not only improve quality of life and memory, but also work through psychological traumas. In various studies, storytelling improved memory in Alzheimer's patients, increased oxytocin levels and reduced pain levels in children in the NICU, and was generally positively correlated with mental health.
Allow the brain to recover. How well individual neurons feel directly affects the quality of the functions they perform. It is important to provide the nervous system with basic support and sufficient nutrients in time. Citicoline-based drugs such as Recognan can help with this. Citicoline acts on key factors that ensure normal brain function and works as a precursor to important components of the cell membrane of neurons and their mitochondria.
Sleep during the day. A short (up to 30 minutes) sleep break has been shown to increase brain performance, persistence on intellectual tasks, and improve mood, according to research.
Massage your ears. Massaging your earlobes, scalp and collar area activates brain blood flow and improves performance by bringing nutrients and oxygen to neurons.
Cool down. A cold shower with a water temperature of less than 20 degrees for 2-3 minutes several times a week activates the nervous system.
Change the lighting. Using blue light during working hours improves concentration and productivity, increases reaction time and helps you solve difficult tasks faster and more efficiently. In the evening, yellow and red nightlights can help you get in the mood for sleep.
Get a pet. Having a pet increases oxytocin production, as well as makes you move more and improves your mood, which has a positive effect on the brain and its cognitive abilities.
The volume of information and the pace of modern life means that the brain is often working at its peak capacity. Timely support for the brain helps to maintain cognitive function and performance for longer, as well as supporting emotional well-being to help you get the most out of life.
