π ΎοΈPurpose : It prohibits discrimination in health insurance and employment based on an individual's genetic information. This includes genetic tests of individuals and their family members, as well as the manifestation of a disease or disorder in family members.
π ΎοΈIntended impact : Essentially, GINA prevents employers from using someone's genetic information when making hiring, promotion, or other employment-related decisions, and it stops health insurers from denying coverage or charging higher premiums solely based on genetic predisposition to potential diseases.

βοΈSection 123(3) & 123(3A) of RP Act, 1951: These sections codify the prohibition against appealing to voters on the grounds of religion, race, caste, community, or language, and label such acts as corrupt electoral practices. They also penalize the promotion of enmity or hatred on these grounds during elections
βοΈModel Code of Conduct (MCC): Although not legally binding, the MCC sets forth norms for political conduct, deterring parties and candidates from exploiting caste, religious, or linguistic differences(Abhiram Singh vs. C.D. Commachen (2017)- includes any religious appeals in the context of elections, even those related to the religion of the voters.
