GS4- Role of media and media ethics

Considering the
answer trends here before posting this, dont you think media has a larger role in shaping our attitudes? If a majority of UPSC aspirants can get this wrong, I dont blame Mr. Bacchan. the Indian variety of bats are different from the carriers of Covid-19.

PS : Although bats are unwelcomed guests, don't go around destroying their habitats🙂

Edit : you may forget the link between bats and covid -19.. but incidents like these help us in reinforcing our memory. So will readymade content work for everyone? Maybe..maybe not. This is an easier way to remember the facts in a context. I hope I make sense.

🔴Very Imp perspective for Essay and Interview

🔵Q) Do actors deserve the kind of importance they get in the society?

This question has varied interpretations- But the question is this- How come actors and cricketers get the kind of importance nobody else gets and WHY IS OUR SOCIETY OKAY WITH it?

Personal perspective : It is because without arts, there is no human progress- If we look at history- whenever societies flourished- arts flourished. So the level of encouragement for arts in a society is a sign of happiness in that society. Arts are a yardstick for our mental health. During times of COVID lockdown it would be so much worse without the arts for common public.

That is the reason why the deaths of Irffan Khan and Rishi Kapoor affects people .

Though this article is Not directly related to UPSC- forming opinions is important for the exam. What is your perspective on this issue?
