GS3: SnT- What is Uterine transplant?- Being able to transfer a uterus from one woman to another, so that an infant is born, can be seen as a success in a medical sense.
GS4: Ethical dilemma-Bioethics- Researchers have now studied ethical aspects of uterus transplantation. The results show that uterus transplantation with living donors is ethically just as problematic as altruistic surrogacy.
research shows that many of the arguments against altruistic surrogacy can be applied to uterus transplantation as a treatment for involuntary childlessness.
Some of these include:
1.That the intervention can threaten the autonomy of the donor, and subject her to pressure.
2.That the intervention can lead to exploitation of women's bodies
3.That the research on the physical and psychological risks facing the child is inadequate

The beauty of upsc syllabus is everything can be an exam worthy information. Because you are trying to understand the problems of real society.
So at the risk of reducing this gory infographic to mere exam worthy information.. this info graphic reminds me of osho's quote
If you love a flower, don't pick it up. Because if you pick it up it dies and it ceases to be what you love. So if you love a flower, let it be. Love is not about possession

This can be used as an example as to what happens when one believes they can outsmart the system.
Institutions are above individuals... if a single person errs, the institution corrects. If the institution itself is making a mistake, its a sign of erosion of values

I don't know who the person is but the immediate reaction this picture triggered is of the word compassion. So what if the reason for this compassion is religion? Should it really matter? Read about the picture superiority effect and how to use that logic in your preparation. You may not be able to explain what compassion means but you can show this picture to tell what you "felt".you can use this in your ethics paper also🙂
