Gs- 1: Indian society- Marriage as an Institution
β Gs-1 :Basic tenets of Indian society
β Gs-4 :Ethics
π ΎοΈIndia being such a diverse nation has been home to a variety of different ways one can get married, most of the communities still prefer having the marriage in their own way as in India marriages are still a union of the families instead of just the two people- This is the fact exhibited by above study- If that is right or wrong is a debate which is very personal.... because it talks about Social institutions( they dont mean the same thing for all- i.e. they are not homogenous)

Gs4- Ethics - Values that a country stands for
π ΎοΈAn apology is a recognition of human dignity
πWhat is this Rwandan Crisis?
πThe Rwandan genocide of April-July 1994 was the culmination of long-running ethnic tensions between the minority Tutsi community, who had controlled power since colonial rule by Germany and Belgium, and the majority Hutu. Over the course of 100 days, the tragedy took the lives of over 8 lakh people, estimated to amount up to 20% of Rwandaβs population.
πIn June 1994, France deployed a much-delayed UN-backed military force in southwest Rwanda called Operation Turquoiseβ which was able to save some people, but was accused of sheltering some of the genocideβs perpetrators

β Gs-4 : Ethics - Role models and professional integrity
π The power of this headline can be felt only when you realise what it takes to shatter markets with a small gesture.
πA note : It takes tremendous professional integrity to say no to money and stick to your values - when someone of such a stature becomes a role model- it can inspire a generation of kids- the same applies to every field.

β Gs-4 : Conflict of Interest- example- PNB-Caryle dealing.
πWhat happened?- The Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has directed PNB Housing Finance (PNBHF) to halt its Rs 4,000-crore deal with Carlyle Group. ( Allegation is that PNB Housing board members who approved a deal with Carlyle group, had undisclosed connections with the Carlyle group)
πSEBI has a document on management of Conflict of Interest for Standard Securities
& Investment Intermediates Ltd. (SSIIL),
πIt aims to effectively manage any conflicts of interest that may arise in carrying out its business.
πAs a part of citizen's charter- It is important to establish this document on public domain to handle issues like this.

Gs-4 : Ethics- Ethics of institutions and their integrity
πJustice as such is a moral question that needs a political solution- With an element of trust- so constitution has Functional Overlap Among Organs Of the Government - Ex : Impeachment and the removal of the judges --Yet we also need Separation of powers->to ensure necessary corrections if one organ of government makes a mistake.
β οΈBut isnt it better if those mistakes are avoided in first place?- YES- but how?- Read the headline now( applies to all institutions).
π ΎοΈWhat are the values that judiciary must uphold for justice delivery? Why is it important for courts to be citizen centric?
(Seems like a Pretty straightforward question- Isn't it?Take a pen and paper, switch on your timer and try to put them as points - and do this for 20 different questions- One can understand the importance of brevity and precision in your answers then. so do you have to make notes? - I will leave it to your judgement )

β Gs-4 Ethics- International Ethics
πHumiliation as a theme in foreign policy
βοΈThe central point- In international relations (IR), some states often deny the legal status of others, stigmatising their practices or even their culture. Such acts of deliberate humiliation at the diplomatic level are common occurrences in modern diplomacy.
βοΈImpact? = National pride is hurt-> Leads to aggressive Nationalism- any historical examples?- Yes- Hitler- and Nazis obsession with German pride.
βοΈThe author feels that India does not have such national humiliations and whatever humiliations we had are self inflicted or different humiliations affected different social groups unequally .
βοΈIn present times- China uses its historical humiliations to build national pride. Should India take the same stance?- Author says No as it leads to jingoism. Also difficult due to inequalities.

Gs-4 : Ethics- Leadership
π°Importance of political leadership- Personality cult in shaping the role of institutions- Is it a good or bad trend?
π ΎοΈAns : In todayβ democracies, we, citizens, elect individuals to represent us, to talk on our behalf. In this way, political leaders embody the beliefs, wishes, and will of populations, and must act as citizensβ representative
β How can political leaders build institutions?
π ΎοΈThey do so by being an embodiment of moral values- They should be role models
π ΎοΈMorals are often subjective in nature- they can have opposition- It leads to ethical dilemmas-
π ΎοΈThus, ethical dilemma represents the search for the good, which implies to have bad consequences on others, or at least, on a part of the population.
π ΎοΈIn short , whatever stance one takes, there will be consequences in a multicultural society- Leaders shape the institutions by bringing more people on board to accept that change
