Gs-4 : Ethics : Attitude- The power of a habit- This is helpful in answering questions on professional ethics
π΄Often Excellence is considered as the highest value of professional ethos.
πPeople who advocate and practice excellence become successful because of their desire, people generally go for what they like, so how much someone wants something is up to him or her.
π΄It is the obsession that pushes them to pursue excellence aided by a strong character that gets them the results they crave for- This comes from doing a thing out of habit- which again is because of our obsession to do it

This forest official from mudumalai broke down after the elephant passed away...
It takes a compassionate heart to shed tears for an animal.... It's a journey of a person from a human being to being humane. Let's not reduce IFoS to a mere exam - a back up in case we don't make it to the other coveted civil services.....
We have thousands of aspirants amongst us who would be much more passionate about wildlife conservation and living that secluded life conserving the wealth of our planet- forests. But somehow, the society we live in doesn't give these kind of forest officials the kind of respect they deserve. As students aspiring for jobs in bureaucracy, it's all the more important that we exhibit that compassion and show some respect towards this service . IFos, may not be everyone's cup of tea but it's the dark knight that deserves much more recognition than it gets now! This is dedicated to all the future forest officers

β Gs-3 : Internal security- Mizos and myanmar border management .
β Mains angle
π΄1. When there is emotion involved- it defies logic- Indian govt feels that the influx of refugees is a stress on the national resources whereas Mizos feel that it is a matter of emotions as they are ethically related to mizos. < whenever there is a question of primordial identities like race, religion etc things take an emotive turn. π΄Here is a reality check - Especially for the interview candidates- Probably it is a question- which requires an extremely honest answer... not to the panel, but to your own conscience....

Most likely these officers have families like all of us, whose family members might be extremely anxious just like how we all are.......
π΄Nobody likes to be on the front end of this diabolical war... The doctors, the frontline workers, none of them, YET there are many who wouldn't think twice to get onto the duty...
π΄Let us strive to be that person- who feels vulnerable yet doesn't think twice to do your duty- Just like those doctors, the police, etc.. IF you are really up for this exam in these times- probably this is what it takes- INTEGRITY and EMPATHY
πP.s. : To the Freshers, no, You do not want to say, I am going to die for my country. This is not a movie π You are much more useful if you are aliveπ

πA very shocking fact- as of Jan 2021- the poorest country in the world got just 25 doses of vaccine- JUST 25! vs 39 million doses in rich countries- is it ethical?
πShould we blame the pharma companies for making money then?
π΄ Not really ; what is the incentive then for spending so much?
β οΈFor examples SARS broke out in 2002- pharma companies spent billions on understanding it- same is the case with EBOLA- they didn't have any returns back then but after that knowledge helped in creating this covid vaccine- What about the money spent ? How do we expect the companies to be so generous?
πDoes it mean we have to give them a free hand let them rob the poor countries or deny them a vaccine?- Is this how it should work?
β What then, is the way ahead?- To solve this problem - the entire world should pool money for research- Interesting idea?- Click here to read more about it

β GS -4 : Ethics- what do you mean by integrity? Is it different from honesty?
Let me try to explain the difference here.
There is a choice between two bowlers- say A and B.
A is not a seasoned bowler but if we take a look at his record- he has a best bowling figure of 6 wkts for 5 runs in a match. He was honest in his intention that day.
B is another bowler- he doesn't have the same record of A but is proven to be a match winner- especially in the death overs.
Whom do you pick? A or B?
B seems like a rational choice. - it is because he is consistent.
This consistency happens when your belief( that you will win the game)- your values- ( preferring to win every time)- your attitude- being honest in your effort )and your behaviour( manifesting in the results you deliver) have proven your worth.Honesty is instantaneous- like a flower pot- short-lived yet beautiful.Integrity is like a candle- boring unexciting but reliable.
India needs people with integrityπ
