Gs4- Human values and Ethics- Why do children become anti social elements in a society?

🛑 In our ethics syllabus we have a topic called Values and how they shape attitudes and behaviour.

🛑In value formation- family is the first agent of socialization. What is the impact of a disturbed childhood? Please go through this short video and remember this. Life is harsh for a few people. As aspiring bureaucrats we all need to empathize with these kids. If you come across such incidents. Step forward and act. You never know what your empathy can do this world. So let us all work together for a better tomorrow. Keep hustling 🙂 Have a good night.

GS -4 : Ethics- what do you mean by integrity? Is it different from honesty?

Let me try to explain the difference here.

There is a choice between two bowlers- say A and B.

A is not a seasoned bowler but if we take a look at his record- he has a best bowling figure of 6 wkts for 5 runs in a match. He was honest in his intention that day.

B is another bowler- he doesn't have the same record of A but is proven to be a match winner- especially in the death overs.

Whom do you pick? A or B?

B seems like a rational choice. - it is because he is consistent.
This consistency happens when your belief( that you will win the game)- your values- ( preferring to win every time)- your attitude- being honest in your effort )and your behaviour( manifesting in the results you deliver) have proven your worth.Honesty is instantaneous- like a flower pot- short-lived yet beautiful.Integrity is like a candle- boring unexciting but reliable.
India needs people with integrity🙂

Gs 4- Ethics - persuasion skills - for attitude change - leadership

🔺An icon of the anti-stubble campaign in her village, Amandeep struggled with severe respiratory problems in childhood. This struggle is what made her convince her father to stop setting paddy residue on fire and instead use a Happy Seeder to deal with the stubble.

🔺In fact, the last two years, Amandeep has herself been sowing 45 acres of land cultivated by her father using the Happy Seeder. Her zeal and the improvement in soil fertility has since inspired at least 80% families in the village to give up stubble burning.

Kudos to her!

Gs- 4 : Ethics - Foundational values of civil services- Humility

🔴Humility is the feeling or attitude that you have no special importance that makes you better than others or having a sense of pride. At first glance, humility seems like a negative quality, almost like a sign of weakness rather than a strength

Example : A perfect example of humility can be seen in the form of our ex indian cricket team captain- Rahul dravid Who stood in a queue with his kids at a science exhibition.

I will be sharing certain ethics examples regularly from now. Please note them and use them accordingly.
