U.S. Army Reportedly Taps Anduril & Rivet to Compete in Revamped XR Headset Military Contract

According to a Breaking Defense report, the U.S. Army has chosen defense startups Anduril and Rivet to compete in its revamped Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) project, now called the Soldier Borne Mission Command (SBMC), which is slated to integrate AR headsets into combat roles.

At the heart of the infotainment domain in our new operating system, MB.OS, is a real-time 3D game engine built by Unity. As the name suggests, it delivers the same level of clarity, high-resolution graphics and response speeds as the best video games on the market – and elevates the in-car experience to an exciting new level.

We’ve already demonstrated the power of this collaboration in our new CLA with the new MBUX Superscreen – and we’ll have more exciting news on this subject at IAA, so stay tuned!

Visualizing Memory and Garbage Collection in Unity

Garbage collection is one of those invisible systems in Unity that quietly affects performance—until it doesn’t. In this video, we’ll make it visible. You’ll learn how to build a real-time memory monitor that shows exactly how much memory your game is using, when the garbage collector runs, and how allocations evolve frame by frame. We’ll also create a lightweight AllocCounter tool to measure allocations in any section of code, giving you both visual and quantitative insight into your game’s memory behavior.
