One of the popular memes on social media is to show an embittered and angry Antonio Salieri drop the music book upon recognising Mozart's 'superior talent'.

This is from the film Amadeus.

Yet like much of Hollywood the film is based on complete LIES.

Salieri was a close friend of Mozart and in fact most of the animosity was the other way around due to Salieri operating at the highest levels of Viennese society.

The screenplay for the film was written by Peter Shaffer the son of Reka (née Fredman) and estate agent Jack Shaffer.

The Director of the film was Milos Forman.

The Producer was Saul Dentz.

Mozart was played by Tom Hulce.
