A science teacher who raped a schoolgirl in a storeroom has insisted he wanted the pupil to carry his baby, a court has heard.
Darlington Nuwertey, 32, “took advantage” of the girl after meeting her while he was a teacher at Oasis Academy Silvertown in Newham, east London, it is said.
He is on trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court charged with nine counts of rape and one count of adult abuse of position of trust by engaging in sexual activity with a girl aged 16 or above.

Their burned remains were found right next to Lakenheath which houses another controversial US Base.
Ian Huntley, who is now dead after being found guilty of the murders, was not immediately arrested.
He was however detained under The Mental Health Act and then arrested and charged which is unprecedented.
There may have been much more to this than we were told.
There have been untold cover-ups of US troops on foreign lands raping and killing children that were then covered up.
