The Metropolitan Police has expanded its fleet of high-powered electric motorbikes from five to 25 in what they say is an ongoing crackdown on phone snatchers and moped gangs across London.
The force said "targeted tactics" had helped drive down phone thefts across the capital by more than 13,000 offences over the past year.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Louise Puddefoot said the e-motorbike fleet was "a powerful tool to stay one step ahead of criminals".

An Israeli court has acquitted a jewish man who attacked a nun in Jerusalem in an incident caught on CCTV which drew widespread condemnation.
Jerusalem Magistrates Court said Yona Schreiber was experiencing a 'psychotic episode' when he pushed over and kicked the French nun in the Old City in occupied East Jerusalem in April.
It ruled that he was not criminally responsible for his actions and ordered him to be sent to a open psychiatric hospital for up to six years for monitoring.

The Greens are now saying that this is a clear mandate from the people for further immigration and legal routes to enter the UK rather than using the small boats.
If such a result plays out at the UK General Election with a 3 way split like this Labour would win a thumping majority.
