Police said the Passat had been travelling the wrong way, while the police vehicle was on the correct side of the road.

Two officers, PC Matthew Blades, 38, and PC Tom Clough, 37, also died. All seven were pronounced dead at the scene.

Former world snooker champion Graeme Dott has been found guilty of sexually abusing two children.

The 49-year-old was found guilty following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow on Monday, August 24. The historic charges span between 1993 and 1996 involving a girl, and 2006 to 2010 involving a boy, both of primary school age in the Glasgow region.

Dott had denied the two charges against him, claiming the allegations were fabricated, and testified there was "absolutely no way" the events happened. The trial heard how Dott exposed himself in front of both children, touched them inappropriately, and kissed them.

Sentencing was deferred until September 29 at the High Court in Edinburgh and the 49-year-old was remanded in custody.
