A police constable who killed himself in May was a violent rapist who carried out a spate of sexual attacks and attempted murders of women over at least 14 years.
PC Alan Greer's first known victim was a woman he raped in her home in Glasgow in 2012 after she had called the police to report being the victim of a crime.
The woman reported the sex attack by Greer late last year.
Detectives have so far uncovered a further eight victims, five of whom were sex workers, attacked while Greer was off duty.

Former River City star Iain Robertson has been jailed for nine years for raping a woman and assaulting two others.
The 45-year-old, who played Stevie O'Hara in the BBC soap, was last month found guilty of five offences between 2004 and 2019.
Robertson, who won a BAFTA for his performance in the 1996 Glasgow gang film Small Faces, also starred in Grange Hill, Rab C. Nesbitt, and Steven Spielberg's Band of Brothers.
The Judge told him his offending had involved "violence, coercion, intimidation, and sexual abuse".
