Father and husband, Matt Styler, was sitting on a wall at a protest in Southampton when riot police, without warning, moved their lines past him. When he failed to move with sufficient speed, due to the 13 pins in his ankle, they began beating him with their fists, knees and riot shields. The attack was completely unprovoked and extremely traumatic for a man suffering from PTSD after his military service. For defending himself, he has been charged with the crime of "assaulting an emergency worker" and has been remanded in custody until November. Styler pleaded "not guilty" to his charge.

The video of Styler's attack has been circulated widely on social media and is being used as an example of heavy-handed police brutality towards our people.

Three more men have been jailed for 'violent disorder' at a protest in Southampton following the murder of Henry Nowak.

They all pled Guilty immediately.

Kamil Josef Klonek of Lordswood Road, Southampton, became the first of the 21 defendants facing charges following the protest to plead not guilty.

Prosecutor Culver said Klonek was filmed in the "centre of the disturbance, chanting at police" and throwing a beer can.

The 33-year-old was refused bail and was remanded in custody. A trial date was fixed for 30 November.

Darren Medhurst, 36 of Carnation Road, Southampton was jailed for three years and three months, while Callum Darch, 27, of St Blaize Road, Romsey and Harley Haynes, 23, of Avenue Road, Southampton received two-and-a-half year sentences.
