A dedicated team of 100 additional officers is being deployed to protect London's 'jewish communities', the Metropolitan Police has said.
The new team of "initially 100 extra officers", would involve "officers who are locally based, understand their communities, and have strong relationships with residents, schools, faith leaders and volunteers"
Mark Rowley said: "The creation of a new Community Protection Team of around 100 officers is an important step in strengthening our response to the sustained threats Jewish communities are facing.
"We are working with government and the mayor to ensure the approach we are building can be sustained over time, not just for Jewish communities, but as a model that can support other communities across London when facing elevated risk."

He resigned as North Lanarkshire Council leader in July 2022 after reports emerged of alleged sexual harassment.
Linden was once considered a rising star within the party and had been pictured alongside former first minister Nicola Sturgeon.
But in March, he was found guilty of 10 separate offences, including five sexual assaults and three counts of engaging in a course of conduct causing fear and alarm and charges involving sexual communications.
The offending took place between 2011 to 2021.
During sentencing at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Wednesday, Linden was handed an 18 month prison sentenced and was immediately remanded.

He also initially refused to go to the tot's bedside to comfort him as doctors stopped CPR and pronounced him dead, around 7.20pm, on July 27, 2023.
Several clips of video footage, from the body-worn cameras of police officers, were played to the jury at Preston Crown Court today.
