A Tajikistan national has been found guilty of the attempted rape and sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl after he tried to chat to her on a train using a translator app.

Abdulmanon Aliev, 50, approached the child on the train from Southend, Essex, to London on June 16 last year, jurors heard.

During the journey, Aliev sat opposite the girl and attempted to use a translator app on his phone to speak to her.

She moved away from him to sit elsewhere, but he followed and sat next to her in an aisle seat, blocking her in by the window.

Aliev then forced himself upon the victim and subjected her to a prolonged sexual assault until the service arrived at London Fenchurch Street station, where she was able to get away from him.

Our strategy of telling people to infiltrate Reform was correct.

Two men who ran a people-smuggling operation from a car wash have been sentenced to 19 years each in prison.

Dilshad Shamo, 41, and Ali Khdir, 40, organised the smuggling of about 100 migrants to Europe weekly for two years, labelled a "Tripadvisor for people smugglers" by the National Crime Agency.

They worked from an otherwise legitimate car wash business in Caerphilly, south Wales, and financed the scheme using a Middle Eastern money-transfer system called Hawala banking.

A former BBC producer has been found guilty of downloading child abuse images.

Dylan Dawes, 50, had more than 6,000 indecent images of children on his devices when they were seized by police.

Dawes denied having a sexual interest in children and said someone else may have used the devices.

We pointed out that with Reform being a newish party there was an opportunity to infiltrate it.
