Nine people have died and at least 10 others are wounded after a shooting at a South African pub.

Authorities said around 12 suspects in a white mini-bus and a silver sedan opened fire at KwaNoxolo tavern in Bekkersdal, 28 miles (45km) west of Johannesburg just before 1am on Sunday.

"Some victims were randomly shot in the streets by unknown gunmen," police said.

According to authorities, they continued to shoot randomly as they fled the scene.

"Allow me to explain your country's identity to you and how it includes me".

Sainsbury's, Budgens and Sports Direct are among the high-street businesses that have signed up to Facewatch, a cloud-based facial recognition security system that scans faces as they enter a store.

Those images are then compared to a database of known offenders and, if a match is found, an alert is set off to warn the business that a shoplifter has entered the premises.

One of Stephen Lawrence's killers has clashed with Manchester Arena bomb plotter Hashem Abedi in prison, a new report has revealed.

Civil servants could be banned from taking part in Pride marches following a new legal challenge.

Campaigners argue that the official participation of Whitehall staff at LGBT parades suggests to the public they have 'taken a side' on contentious gender ideology.

A Russian general has been killed in a car bombing in Moscow, officials have said.

Russia's Investigative Committee said Lt Gen Fanil Sarvarov died on Monday morning after an explosive device planted under a car detonated.

Sarvarov, 56, was the head of the armed forces' operational training department, the committee added.

It said one theory being investigated was that the bomb was planted with the involvement of Ukrainian intelligence services.
