MSP Colin Smyth has today appeared in court charged with child sex offence.
He appeared in private at Dumfries Sheriff Court where he faced two charges.
The first is a charge under a section of the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act dealing with voyeurism, which refers to recording someone "doing a private act".

The man, from an African country, was said to have arrived in the Republic of Ireland six years ago.
He had his application for asylum turned down last year and was subject to a deportation order since March this year.
The victim was an Irish girl who was in care, and had reportedly absconded while being escorted on a trip.
