A new V-Level qualification is to be rolled out in a major overhaul of the education system for pupils aged 16 to 19, the Department for Education (DfE) has announced.

A Labour-run council has axed a Remembrance Day poppy display amid its crackdown on flag-flying.
Locals in Hoyland, South Yorkshire, will no longer be able to commemorate their 'fallen heroes' by placing a large wooden poppy on each lamppost.
It follows updated guidance from Barnsley Council which bans attachments to posts with road signage.

Drug addict boyfriend who strangled his girlfriend to death before driving around with her body in the passenger seat is eligible to receive thousands of pounds in benefits while locked up.
Gogoa Lois Tape, 28, killed Kennedi Westcarr-Sabaroche, 25, outside his home in London, where the couple's one-year-old daughter slept, in April 2024.
He avoided prison after being convicted of manslaughter thanks to a diminished responsibility claim owing to his poor mental health.
He was instead detained under sections 37 and 41 of the Mental Health Act 1983 and sent to a secure psychiatric unit where he will likely be eligible to receive universal credit payments.

The Royal Family believe the allegations against Prince Andrew "should be examined in the proper and fullest ways."
There are calls to formally strip Prince Andrew of his honours and titles. At the moment they are extant - not formally removed but just no longer used.
It would take an act of parliament to remove his Duke of York title and other peerages, but it is possible that the King could take away his honours, such as Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, or his membership of the Order of the Garter.
Royal Knights of the Order of the Garter have a banner flag and a small enamelled brass plate on display within the Quire at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle - it is understood the decision on whether Andrew's should be removed is still to be confirmed.

The Metropolitan Police says it will no longer investigate non-crime hate incidents to allow officers to "focus on matters that meet the threshold for criminal investigations".
The announcement came as the Met confirmed it was dropping a probe into Father Ted creator Graham Linehan after he was arrested at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of inciting violence in posts on X.

Tommy Robinson is on his paid tour of Israel.
We have consistently pointed out that Tommy is in the pay of the Israel lobby.
However, in a clip released today we noticed something very different.
In this pre scripted interview with the Knesset speaker, Amir Ohana, Robinson goes too early to a book where the word 'Jew' is written 6 million times.
Ohana then phsyically slaps him and then chastises him.
Ohana is an open homosexual with two adopted children through surrogacy. Robinson clearly will know that and likely not like it.
Ohana then reminds him that as a people they never forget.
Robinson is then quiet and physically shaken for the rest of the interview.
The problem for Tommy is that he doesn't have the bloodline to truly be in the mafia.
Maybe he is just starting to realise who he has gotten in to bed with and what they may end up doing to him after he has run out of use to them.
