A new Costs of War / Quincy Institute report lays out the scale of Washington’s military, financial, and logistical backing for Israel’s campaign.
Between October 2023 and October 2025, at least $21.7 billion in direct military aid flowed to Israel:
· $17.9B in year one
· $3.8B in year two
When you include expanded U.S. operations in Yemen and the wider Middle East, the total climbs to $31–34 billion.
This isn’t just money. It’s weapons, aircraft, and infrastructure. Israel’s entire combat aviation fleet is U.S.-made: 75 F-15s, 196 F-16s, 39 F-35s, 46 Apaches, 25 Sea Stallions, 49 Black Hawks. These aircraft, and tens of thousands of U.S.-supplied bombs and missiles, have formed the backbone of Israel’s bombardment of Gaza.
The money moved through multiple channels:
· $8.1B in Foreign Military Financing (FMF)
· $5B for missile defense
· $4.4B to replenish U.S. stockpiles used by Israel
· $725M in “Offshore Procurement” to fund Israel’s own arms industry
In Biden’s last month in office, the administration rushed through $8B in new arms deals. Under Trump, another $10.1B was notified, including thousands of JDAM kits, precision bombs, and Apache helicopters.
The U.S.–Israel military aid agreement currently locks in $3.8B annually through 2028. Without this financing, Israel’s war machine would grind to a halt.
Washington isn’t a bystander to this war. It is the arsenal behind it.

Ex-BBC Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood has been charged with four counts of rape, the Metropolitan Police has said.
The 68-year-old has also been charged with nine counts of indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault.
