More tenacious was 37...Rd8, after which the most precise way to win is 38.Rd3 Qc7 39.Rc3! Nc6 40.Qf2 f4 41.Nd3! d4 42.Nxf4!+–.

Black resigned.

The combination of the moves b2-b3 and Bc1-d2 is unfortunate, so if Black is able quietly to complete his development, he will get a good game. However, his bishop hangs on the c-file:

In an open position, White secures the advantage of the two bishops, thanks to which he has a clear advantage.

Retreating the Na5 would lose the initiative, as the Ra1 hangs. But there followed instead:

Black’s queenside is ruined and White wins.

A beautiful move, which allows Black to win material with the help of a small combination.

Now, White loses the pawn on d4 as well.

Black has an extra pawn and the better position. The rest of the game was just a technical realisation of a large advantage.
