The 44th Chess Olympiad Open title was won by Uzbekistan who remained unbeaten. Armenia and India 2 teams clinched second and third positions.

The Women Category title was clinched by Ukraine who did not lose any matches, whereas 7 were won and 4 drawn. The second position was won by Georgia and third by India.

The 14 day Olympiad consisted of 11 exciting rounds, competed by 186 teams and was represented by more than 900 players.

GM Pia Cramling wins her third individual gold 44 years after debuting in Chess Olympiad

This is the third individual gold medal for the 59-year-old grandmaster from Sweden; she had previously achieved this feat in 1984 and 1988 in Thessaloniki, Greece.Legendary Swedish grandmaster Pia Cramling debuted in the Chess Olympiad playing for the Swedish National Team 44 years ago in Buenos Aires, Argentina. she received her third Olympic individual gold as the best Board 1 player of the Women’s Chess Olympiad. Pia Cramling scored outstanding 9.5/11 points and had a rating performance of 2532.
