FIDE regrets to inform that GM Ding Liren will be unable to play in the second leg of the FIDE Grand Prix, to be held in Belgrade from February 28 to March 14. Despite the will and the efforts from both parties, there are insurmountable obstacles that prevent him from playing.

Ding Liren's chances of qualifying for the Candidates Tournament look to have gone completely, since he's unable to play the 2nd #FIDEGrandPrix. Dmitry Andreikin, who had to pull out of the 1st after a positive test, now gets the chance to play
After 9 days of play, Hikaru Nakamura and Levon Aronian are the last men standing in the Berlin FIDE Grand Prix.

From today they will be fighting in the final, not only for the winner's laurels but also for 3 precious extra Grand Prix points!

Look at her eyes.
Vera Menchik became the first Women's Chess World Champion in 1927. She defended her title six times and lost only one game over the course of these seven tournaments.
She has gone many years ago but not forgotten - remember her on her birthday.❤️
