The legendary GM Borislav Ivkov passed away in Belgrade at the age of 88.
We're deeply saddened by the passing of grandmaster Borislav Ivkov (November 12, 1933 - February 14, 2022).
Ivkov was the inaugural World Junior Champion (1951), participant of the Candidates Matches (1965) and the "Match of the Century" (1970), 3-time Yugoslavian Champion.

FIDE regrets to inform that GM Ding Liren will be unable to play in the second leg of the FIDE Grand Prix, to be held in Belgrade from February 28 to March 14. Despite the will and the efforts from both parties, there are insurmountable obstacles that prevent him from playing.
