11...Nd7!
An interesting pawn sacrifice. Nakamura gains the initiative with keeping his opponent's king in the center.

12...e5!?
After Topalov - Svidler game in 2006, this line was considered as a dubious idea. However, further games have cast new light on this move.

38...Be7?
Black's best chance to draw is: 38...g×f4 39.g×f4 Be7 40.f5 Bh4.

25...f3?
A miscalculation.

26.B×d8 R×d8 27.Qh4! f×g2
If 27...Bg6??, then 28.Rb7! (Vachier has probably missed this intermediate move in his calculation) 28...Qc8 29.Nb6 +-.
28.Rfe1 Bf3 29.Re3 Bc6 30.Rbe1 +-

24.Nb1!
The return home of the knight is perhaps the strongest move in its career (a similar maneuver was familiar to me from the Sicilian). It transpires that the black queen's sortie to a3 has not prevented the opening of the center (Kasparov).
24...Qa4
If 24...Qb4, then 25.c3! is good; 25...Qa5 26.Qb2 and the black queen suffers a sad fate. While after 24...Qxa2? 25.Nc3 it is altogether trapped.
25.dxc5 bxc5 26.c4! (of course!) 26...N8d7 27.Nc3 Qa5 28.Qc2+/-.

20.g4!
Beginning a direct attack on the king – g4-g5 is threatened (undermining the support of the knight at e5!), and at the same time the freeing move ...h7-h5 is prevented. However, for the moment Black's difficulties are largely of a psychological nature (the unresolved problem of the rook on h8 is unnerving).
20...h6 21.h4 Nf7?! 22.Qe4! Rf8? 23.Nf5! Qe8 24.Nd4!+/-.
