14...Bxd4!
In the 4th game of my second match with Karpov (1985) in a similar position I wrongly avoided this non-routine exchange, but here its advantages are far more specific and obvious. (Kasparov)

Both defending the f2-pawn, and possibly including the bishop in the attack via h4. The position turned out to be very complicated, and it was unclear to me what Black should play here. (Kasparov)

🔘 Fischer - Cardoso (1957)

Rodolfo Cardoso (19) of Manila and Bobby Fischer (14) of Brooklyn came together in an international match, sponsored by Pepsi-Cola. Cardoso had competed in the World Junior Championship (scoring 6.5-4.5), and Fischer at the time was engaged in winning the U.S. "Open" Championship. The encounter had its moments of excitement and Cardoso won one game and drew two games; but Bobby scored a convincing triumph – Chess Review 1957.
