Apparently the move which Kasparov underestimated in his calculations. The importance of the move is two-fold. Firstly, this square is quite secure, and the knight will not be dragged away from the crucial function of keeping Black's 'Grunfeld' bishop out of the play for some time. Secondly, the possibility of playing f2-f3 spells some restriction for his opponent's light-squared bishop too.
