3.Nb3? Nf5 the queen can't protect the e3-pawn due to the discovered attacks.

Vacating the d1-square for the knight.

With the double intention of ...Bh6 and ...h4-h3.

10.h3 was better, when 10...Rc8 keeps the advantage.
