Happy 85th birthday to the legendary tenth world chess champion and two-time Soviet champion, Boris Spassky! ππ
The 10th World Champion, Boris Spassky, was born on this day in 1937.
He won the title by defeating Tigran Petrosian on his second attempt (Moscow 1969), after a failed challenge in 1966, but conceded it to Bobby Fischer three years later. He is the oldest living World Champion.

βThose who think that itβs easy to play chess are mistaken. During a game, a player lives on his nerves, and at the same time he must be perfectly composedβ
