The 1949 Hoogovens tournament at Beverwijk. Among the pairings: O'Kelly (Belgium) v. Golombek (England); Bergsma (Netherlands) v. Tartakower (France).
The event was won by Tartakower.

In 1976, Garry Kasparov set a record for becoming the champion of the USSR among young men (no older than 18 years old) in less than 13 years. It seemed impossible to surpass this achievement! But in 1986, Gata Kamsky did it!

World Youth Chess Championship 2020 originally scheduled for September in Romania is postponed to a later date.

The new dates will be determined in coordination with the organizers, taking into account the epidemiological situation.
